“Sew” much has happened since we moved into our new home at
First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh!
5401 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232

Our new meeting time is Tuesdays from 10am to 4pm.
- Volunteers should bring a bag lunch or can choose to walk to nearby restaurants.
- Volunteers can stay for an hour or the entire time. Do what makes sense for you.
- Anyone can drop by so invite your friends
We are scheduling college groups on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm.
- We have groups scheduled every Monday in February already.
- If you’re group would like to schedule email pittsburgh@daysforgirls.org
- Volunteers to assist the students are needed.
As more volunteers are trained to lead we will be offering other time slots.

We have a new order from our friends at Global Links
for 10,000 kits that will be distributed it Cuba in 2024.
We hope you can help us.
Each standard Days for Girls washable kit includes: 2 waterproof shields, 8 liners, 2 panties, 1 carry pouch, a 100% cotton wash cloth, a small bar of soap, and an ovulation chart and directions, all packaged in a drawstring bag. Those are the things you can see. What you might not notice immediately is that those kits also contain: dignity, education, and independence. These kits and their accompanying education can lift entire communities out of poverty.

On Sunday January 28th at the 11:00am service at First United Methodist Church, I’ll be giving the “period sermon” and Pastor Tracy will be praying for our team. I’ve let her know that not everyone is able or comfortable attending a Christian worship service, so no worries if this isn’t something you want to do.
I hope that those of you who are able will consider attending. Pastor Tracy says the atmosphere at FUMC is relaxed so if you want to wear your DfG t-shirt that would be great. Or if you want to wear something else, you can also wear a DfG apron. It’s helpful to have a few people who are identifiable as team members able to answer questions about DfG and talk up volunteering opportunities to the congregation.
I’m “sew” grateful to everyone who has and continues to help us make this transition into our new home.
