Help us to reach people in the USA and around the world.
Receiving donations by the end of October will help us to get the kits out quickly.
If you are a Days for Girls team member reading this, please check your DfG email for more details about the entire project and how you are uniquely positioned to help.
The Pennsylvania Collection Point will be focusing on getting a pallet of hybrid kits ready to be sent as part of the relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Helene. When that is filled, we will pivot to support the rest of the efforts in the larger project.
What’s in a hybrid kit? It is a Days for Girls washable menstrual kit and 15 disposable pads.
Our most needed item is disposable pads. In order to fill an entire pallet, the PA Collection Point will need over 18,000 disposable pads. This is our most pressing need. Examples of the types of pads we need can be found on our Amazon wish list. We can accept other pads that meet these standards: Disposable maxi, feminine, or menstrual pads of the THIN variety. They may be with or without wings. Donate products that are made for moderate to heavy flow cycles. Please make sure the pads are individually wrapped.
Note: Panty liners or any product that is recommended for ‘light days’ as well as products for incontinence care are not needed for this project.
Our other needed item is underwear. We accept girls’ medium, large and women’s small, medium, large. Examples of the types of underwear we need can be found on our Amazon wish list. The items on our wish list are the sizes we currently have the least of on hand. We will continue to monitor and update or wishlist as things change.
We are also hoping to receive packing tape, washcloths, and hotel sized bar soap. Examples of the types of items we are hoping to receive can also be found on our wish list.
Please note: During conflict and crisis, projects are fluid and changing. Flexibility is key. Every effort will be made to apply your donations directly to this project. There may be circumstances where it becomes necessary to redirect to another recipient (for example those affected by Hurricane Milton if the opportunity arises to support). Rest assured, all donations will be used to get menstrual care, resources, and services to women and girls who need them.
